AUDITION INFORMATION

Thank you for your interest in auditioning for the 2nd Annual SHOW LAYTON YOUR TALENT contest. Last year’s show was a huge success and we are very excited to be able to showcase the best talent around and are glad you are interested in performing. Please read all the following rules and regulations, fill out the attached application form, inform us of what your talent will be (CDs, DVDs, and other media are encouraged but not essential), and submit to the following address by April 19 at 5:00 p.m.

Each entry will be reviewed and those picked to audition will be notified by April 26. Auditions will be held Saturday, May 1 (between 12pm and 8pm), at Layton High School at 440 Wasatch Drive; Layton, UT. The 15 finalists chosen by our panel of judges will be performing at the opening concert of the Davis Arts Council’s Summer Nights with the Stars season at the Edward A. Kenley Centennial Amphitheater in Layton Commons Park. During the performance, the audience will assist in choosing the final three winners.

3rd Place receives:      $250
2nd Place receives:      $500
1st Place receives:      $1,000

RULES

• The top three winners from last year’s competition are ineligible to audition; all other auditioners from last year’s competition are welcome to audition again
• Amateur performers only
• All performances must be appropriate for all ages (“G” Rated)
• Attire for all performers must be modest
• Acts accepted will be: - Singers: solo or groups (you must provide an accompaniment CD or pianist – a capella groups accepted)
  - Musicians: solo or groups
  - Dancers: solo or groups
  - Comedians/magician/etc.
  - Actors: prepared monologues/scenes (2 to 4 minutes)
  - Other: If you have talent, submit a sample and let us take a look
  
• Groups can be no larger than ten (10) members
• Performances cannot be longer than four (4) minutes from start to finish (performances should be at least two (2) minutes)
• All ages are welcome to submit an application (performers under the age of 18 require a parent’s or guardian’s signature on the release form included in this packet)
• Layton City and the Davis Arts Council retain the right to refuse any entry or terminate a performance for any reason
• Every entry must be available to perform (if chosen) on June 19 at the Davis Arts Council 2010 Summer Nights with the Stars season opener
• Neither Layton City nor the Davis Arts Council will be held responsible for loss or damage to personal property belonging to, or in the care of, the performers
• Neither Layton City nor the Davis Arts Council will be held liable for any injury to performers during auditions or performances
• Layton City and the Davis Arts Council reserves the right to audio/video all performances and all audio/visual recordings will be the sole property of Layton City and Davis Arts Council
• Application entries will not be returned
